CERAMICS

Working with ceramics has given me the opportunity to explore form + texture while learning more about material possibilities + limitations. It has allowed a different perspective on the design process where results are a lot more immediate. This has lead to a new understanding for the importance of material experimentation.

The work shown here are pieces from one of two collections that were made + sold at an open studios on Eel Pie Island. There was a great deal of satisfaction achieved from developing a series of work that was cohesive. Then to be able to hear feedback from visitors of the open studios was of great value in order to develop ideas further.

JEWELLERY

Working with jewellery design has taught me a valuable set of skills in considering scale + adaptation to the human form. As an unforgiving material there is a need for working with precision + care. I value the traditional craft techniques I have learnt that can be used when developing materials for wider interior schemes.
